The Netherlands Air Force was born on the 1. July 1913. On the 16. April 1910 an order to built up a separate formation of the armed forces called the "Luftvaarafdeling" was released by queen Wilhelmina. The first aircraft were four "Brik" leased by the owner Marinus van Meel to the armed forces. From there on the air force developed to a strong force now being a real factor within the NATO-forces. The authors show the development and todays state with supreme pictures.
