BORODINO-THE MOSKOVA - The Battle for the Redoubts

The 1812 campaign : when Napoleon and the Great Army, in which coexist more foreign than French troops, are leaving Germany for Moscow. Napoleon aims are : to punish this impudent tsar who dares to challenge his blockade established in front of England and in the same time to get rid of the last great continental opponent. The campaign opens with a fantastic battle on the Moscowa River, where Russian troops will be brought to heel in a few hours. Impressive battle by the number of opposing soldiers and by the fightings density. Also impressive for what it will soon imply : Emperor's illusions, scorched earth policy and bloody skirmishes on stragglers. The Emperor will pay for this when the general Hiver will go to Koutouzov's rescue.
