Most of the remarkable weapons in this album had been owned by Caucasian muhajeers, who fled to countries in the Middle east in the wake of the war in the Caucasus, and emigres who had to quit Russia after the 1917 Revolution. Today we regard them as unique historical and cultural artifacts. They are silent witnesses to past tragedies, the courage, valor and honor of their ill-fated owners, who survived in the battlefields but had to flee their own land and died on foreign lands pining for their own.
